im lookin into gettin a bike of my own for when i start working on my car i have something to drive... i really like the YZF R6 maybe a '99 or '00 or a GSXR 600?
what would y'all recommend my first bike be... keep in mind i'm a girl , i weigh 115 lbs... i couldnt handle more than 600 cc's lol

neither. look into a Ninja 250, GS500, or Ninja 500...

ride each and make the decision on comfort, looks and price. both are great bikes, they are no huge differences to the common rider.

Have you gotten your endorsement yet? If not then I would go get that then do a little research on the different bikes and then go get a bike, also a 600cc bike is not just a play toy, it's a beast!

But on a serious note, I am about 135 now and I handle my bike with no problems. As for what bike to buy. Pick the one you like, all of the are about the same.

yes i do have experience with street bikes... itll be more of my play toy and weekend ride than anything and my eclipse is my daily driver for now... and kris, just because im a girl doesnt mean i can't handle a bit of power... i can handle men just fine, need i say much more

Yeah, I wasn't saying that since you were a girl you couldn't handle it but you were making it seem like the 600cc bikes are nothing compared to the liter bikes. Get an SV650.

It is not about your weight. Most people to not understand how much time/skill it takes to ride a bike on a regular basis. I just had a friend highside and he never took the endorsement course. They would have shown his how not to do what he did. I best thing I did was to get my endorsement. And buy gear, he has road rash tip to toe cause he was too 'cool' to wear gear.

ill check it out... i prob dont want n e thing much more than 600 cc's.. i know i'd kill myself... lets just say im known for my driving "skills"... and i doubt i'd be any safer on something with no doors

See, he did that. he is in soooo much pain. $600 in gear is less pain than the road rash.

i understand... like i was saying about the kid at my school, this ******* 17 yr old that daddy bought a Z06 was goin 110 down the street comin back from off campus lunch and changed lanes into a biker who wasnt wearing a helmut.... face first into asphault and never made it to the hospital... god forbid i be that biker, i want at least that one bit of chance

Ouch, people have no respect for bikers something. I was reading the paper today and there was a story about a biker that was going to rearend a car and he laid it down and a soccer mom SUV turned to avoid the bike and ran him over. It was about 3 miles from my house. I fear SUVs more and more each day.
