Polishing frame on a 600RR
I know you can use paint stripper to strip the powdercoating off the rims. But what about the frame? Has anyone tried this on a CBR600RR. I have noticed that all or most new bikes have black frames now!

Just the way it should be.

Re: Polishing frame on a 600RR (tlaskin)
well plz don't make polishing it your project
if you are going to do it... disasemble the entire bike, motor out, bearings out, everything... otherwise its gonna look like poo and your gonna get compund in everything
once you put all the labor into polishing it, just have it chromed... its easier to keep up and since you already did all the grunt work (polishing is 9/10th of chroming) it wont cost very much
but again, i ask that you don't polish a black framed bike... they look so good the way they are

Re: Polishing frame on a 600RR (Mike Panic)
I would never chrome another bike. I did that to my last R1. I was just curious. Maybe I will just buy all new plastics and make it the candy blue color!

Re: (Ashish)
paint (aircraft) stripper will take the black paint off the frame too, but you are really gonna want to dismantle the bike all the way down to the frame if you use that stuff
i personally think it would look cool, havent seen a 600rr with a polished frame
