Default newbie goes to motorcycle mall..

...so I went down to check out some bikes. I wanted to sit on different types of bikes and see how they felt.

I made it pretty clear that I never rode a bike to the whack salesman that came over. I asked him some generic stuff and to recommend me some bikes. This guy was something else... He started pushing this ninja saying its got low miles, almost new, great bike, etc. I got on...I was like "600?" hes like yea. The we go over to the used section, and some dude walks by and asks the salesman about the ninja..."is it a 1000cc?" and the sales guy is like yea, im sorry it is 1000.

The we go to the back and he shows me this Buell. (Lightning iirc) Im like, 4 cylinder? hes like yep its a 4. I glance down at the V engine...

Then he shows me a bandit. I liked the seating position/ergonomics much more than the others..really felt right. I got off and loked at the 1200 logo on the side (this guy knows ive never ridden a bike)

It didn't take much more listening to him to realize that this guy was full of ****, so I basically showed myself out.

What I learned: I know more about bikes than said salesman. Dual sports are bigger in real life than in pics . Bandit is comfy. yea thats pretty much it...

what do you guys think about the bandit 600 as a starter?

He probably thought you were just another tire-kicker and was there to waste his time.

600 Bandit.....Or as us here in squidland call them...El little bandito.... Yeah...its a good starter bike.

+1 on the comfort level too.....I also found it very fun to ride....its peppy, but not "OH I JUST **** MYSELF" peppy....it'll get you out of sticky situations...but don't go trying to drag kneee on it...

I am correcting you, you're wrong. V-twin, just like every other P.O.S. Harley. well, except for the buell blast, that's a single cylinder..and a P.O.S. :

The buell IS a four cylinder motorbike, they just forgot to add the two other chambers in a cost cutting measure in an effort to save the company

Then why'd you answer the question? I would think knowing something about a subject would be a prerequisite to giving advice. If I call my accountant and ask him about plumbing is he going to give me an answer? More than likely not. Stick with what you know.

(Not trying to be a dick, just some constructive criticism)

That's ok, I'm not mad at you. You're embarrassed about being called out on your mistake, so you've turned that into anger and channeled into an offensive approach to the situation. It's a defense mechanism, it's normal.
