leather or textile pants.
For me personally, i'd perfer to find a nice pair of over the jeans pants.
Otherwise you can just pick up a set of knee/shin guards from a motorcycle shop for motocross or the like and wear those. But it's not going to protect your butt.
You could try draggin jeans or similar products, but to me they look just as goofy as a textile or leather pant, so i'd rather wear the textile or leather. At least it's purpose built.

i'd have to agree with u that the draggin jeans look goofy.
reason i'd rather have protection under my jeans and not leather/textiles is so that its more practical to do things when u aren't riding the bike. just take off all your gear.
and i think there are protective underwears too. for your butt and stuff. just want to get real world feedback

i'm using some dirt bike shin guards made by fox. they're like $15 for the pair at cycle gear they're pretty comfy and you can't even tell you're wearing them under neath your jeans.

I am in the same boat as you. Have a jacket, helmet, gloves, and boots. But no knee protection.
Just layed my bike down and the only rash i got was on my knee.
Needless to say. ill be getting some knee protection.

Reflex Knee Guards from Alpinestar
Really cheap, easy to use and i wear them every time underneath jeans or pants (assuming that you don't wear really tight pants). I actually use them when i'm working on my car and bike too
my next goal is to have impact protection for the hip area

That's a bullshit excuse for not gearing up.
Those strap on pads arn't going to do a whole lot of good once the cotton wears away. Proper riding gear will keep the pads on and in their designated place at initial impact AND the slide afterwards.
