New to the Fit world
Hi all,
I just gave up my Mazda Protege5 for a 2007 Honda Fit (58k miles) from a Chevy dealer. I've already taken it to a Goodyear service mechanic and had them check out the car and came back all thumbs up. Pressure in 1, 2, 3, and 4th cylinder is 125, 130, 130, and 130 PSI, respectively.
I'm just wondering what sort of maintenance/repairs to expect in the near future at my age of car. Are there particular weak points in the Fit that I should be aware of?
Finally, I saw that there's no Chilton/Haynes for this car...what do you all use?
Looking forward to being an active member

Helms has a manual and a euro spec one is online at http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual.htm there are minor differences but it's good for most things.
You should check your valve clearances as by that mileage most of them are out of spec.
If you encounter hesitation and "shaking" the sparking units (coil packs) have gone bad on a bunch of cars at that mileage.
Check your vin and see if the one or two recalls have been done yet.

Also, I'm not very familiar with valve clearance on these cars but have done them on my old 88 civic. Is it the same process more or less or should I have the certified mechanic do it?

How involved is checking a valve clearance? I've never done that. I just picked up the car at a dealer and seems to be running fine. What are my options if I find that the valve clearances are outside of tolerances?

Here is how to clearance your valves

Note it is an Adm in the DIY but for a few differences with the intake everything else is the same.
Google for recalls with your vin.
