Honda Fit door locks stuck
Hi folks, this is my first post, plus congrats to me, I just made my final payment on my base 2009 Fit.
At about four years and 40,000 miles, the driver's side door lock stopped working with the key (base Fits = no keyless entry). The key fully entered the lock only with difficulty, and eventually would not turn the lock even when fully inserted. This was a gradual process. Lubricants did not seem to help. I switched to entering the car from the passenger side, but a year later the passenger's side lock failed as well.
With no remaining way to enter the locked car other than through the hatch, I began researching my options. The dealership wanted over $500 to replace the locks, with presumably replacements of the same inferior materials. I found some threads suggesting to remove the lock cylinders (with difficulty due to a hard-to-remove U-clip), but then performing surgery on the locks to remove or replace worn tumblers--a scary proposition (I could imagine tiny springs and tumblers leaping off the table and into oblivion).
I eventually took the car to a shop in town called The Specialists, and for $108 including tax they installed a keyless remote system and gave me two fobs. No new keys on my keychain, just a small 4-button remote. Problem solved--the lousy lock cylinders are still in the doors, but with the remote the problem is bypassed.

Re: Honda Fit door locks stuck
I'm suffering from a stuck door lock on my '09 Fit too. There are lots of complaints about this issue on many Honda forums.
It also appears that there's a Class Action lawsuit against Honda for the issue:
Honda named in class action over defective door locking systems in 2007-2011 Honda CR-V vehicles | Got a Class Action?
I wonder if anyone has had any luck with recovering any money or at least getting the locks fixed by Honda?

Re: Honda Fit door locks stuck
I am having a similar door lock problem with my 2008 Honda FIT.
My rear hatchdoor is being a problem.
When I turn the key to open it, the key mech is hard to turn with the key.
When I take out the key, the key mech does not return to normal operating position.
I have to take both my thumbs and forcefully push down on the lever under the handle to close the interior locking mechanism.
I have to figure out or learn how to remove the hatch door cover to expose the lock mech and probably grease it or take it to a locksmith for him to lubricate it or otherwise locate the source of the problem and maintenance it to prevent it from keep happening.
I've been dealing with this problem since last summer and it is getting to be a real P.I.A.
I will continue reading up on the problem and see what other ingenious fixes other members here have undertaken to resolve Honda FIT issues.
Great thanks,
