Default Installing a CVT in a USDM Fit

Does anyone have any information on this? I bought a 2007 Sport model for my wife and if I can locate a CVT transmission I wouldn't mind installing it. If anyone knows of write ups or complications I might run into please let me know.

Worse move you could ever make they suck. Look on some of the foreign forums where they have them and you will see how really bad they are. Waste of time and money.

I think I'd wait until they offer it with a CVT and trade. You'll get a good price for the one you've got and won't have to diddle around with the ecu and all the niggling things that no doubt would be required.

Just get a stick shift fit. No fabrication, more fun to drive, as good (better?) fuel economy.

That is probably the main reason why he would need to swap the CVT tranny into his car if he really wanted it

Yeah I know their are none in the states otherwise I would have just bought it that way. Can anyone direct me to where they are having problems with the CVTs not really sure why they would.

Because of fluid problems Honda has gone to the trouble of formulating and entirely new fluid just to cure all the problems with CVT. And the start clutches fail A LOT there are entire fluid replacement warranty fixes and if that doesn't cure the problems a new start clutch is installed under warranty even on some cars out of warranty. Try looking at some Australian forums and you can read a bunch of problem threads don't do it it's a piece of crap.
