I have a 2015 Fit EX with an after market remote start installed. As soon as you unlock it (with the remote start fob) and open the door, it shuts off. Is this because of the push to start ignition? Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Wow, this seems to be a recurring issue with another member who has a 2015 CRV. I might have to look into this, deeper.

I should have my 2015 Fit in a few days, with the Honda official remote start installed in it. I will let you know if I have the same issue with it.

It took a bit longer to get the Fit than I planned. I have the official Honda remote start and the engine turns off if the door is opened. In fact, it turns off when the door is unlocked. Reading the manual, it says the engine will turn off if the door is unlocked and the engine was remote started. The manual says it is a safety feature - I say it is a pain in the ***.

Since it also happens with an after market remote starter, it is most likely part of the engine immobilizer system.

As an aside, the manual also says the engine cannot be remote started if the keys (part of the push button start system) are inside the car.

All previous and current Honda remote starters would turn the car off upon unlocking or opening the door. At first I thought I was entering the car wrong but its just a thing they do.
