Default Transmission - cold start

I just had the (auto) transmission replaced in my 2001 Honda CRV (used/rebuilt). It seems to run fine except when first going in the mornig. I have trouble getting it to shift - it revs up (rpms) andI have to let off the gas and hit it again. After a couple times, it starts to shift normally. Like I said, this only happens when intially driving in the mornings:

Questions:

1) Why is it doing this? Normal/acceptable? Is it 'warming up'?
2) Does the transmission 'move' at all while in park?
3) Does the transmission 'move' at all while in drive, but at a stop (brake)?

Did the original transmission do this? Did they use Honda ATF? I would say it's not suppose to do this. Seems like it's having a hard time letting go of the gears when cold (fluid not at proper operating temp). I am not sure about questions 2 and 3, I would think there is something in there that would prevent damage from happening while stopped but the transmission would continue to rotate. I have a manual so I am not to sure with your issues, but I have seen the issue about it not wanting to change gears while fluid is still cold, I think that is not normal IMHO.

Original trans did not do this. No idea about HONDA ATF - I will have to ask my mechanic. Someone told me to add a special lubrication to the tranny.

I would flush what ever they put into the transmission and use OE Honda ATF. If you can change your own oil you should be able to change your ATF. On a manual, it takes about 10 minutes to drain and fill. Super Easy.
