i don't know how much extra power you think you're going to need, but a simple vtec head swap is the most cost effective to pick up power

I'm looking for torque not horsepower, small turbo for highway response and driveability.

my first set up was from a civic Si em1 kit, tuned for torque.. i made 250HP and 270tq, @2k rpm my torque is already
200lbs, it was a drastic flat curve on top but never dropped. it was a fun to drive, but it was purposely tuned and built
like that coz i was hauling my track eg so i dont need to downshift a LOT of times if i need instant power.. just press
the pedal and im good...

my V is Vtec ready, but being autotragic im debating on finishing it, all I need is a Vtec controller and wire everything up, the heads on right now just not wired up. Might just finish the vtec conversion in a few weeks then save up for the J swap stuff, been doing research lately on that, too afraid to turbo an auto with a vtec controller not the best for tuning

What's the most affordable and reliable turbo set up? I'm not looking to win any races. I just need to climb mountain passes more efficiently.

I have a CRV with a B20B. My budget is around $500-1000. Is this realistic?

Haha, this thread turned into a random chat thread of sorts. Yes it's been done. Buy one of these:

Thanks for that.

But I was more curious about the power handling capabilities and resulting reliability of the auto trans. In stock form and what upgrades are available.

Have to pay to play man. Do you really think modified stuff is cheap? Go look at ANY aftermarket or custom parts for a CRV compared to a Civic or Integra. You would burn yours to the ground.

Building a Honda A/T has been done before. Can you specifically build a CRV one? I honestly don't know (and don't really care) as I never looked into it since M/T are the only way to get every last bit of power out of these torqueless engines. Spawne32 successfully built an early Integra trans though and those fit in a CRV soo... enjoy!

If you REALLY wanted to and were serious about trying something, you would look into it and sit down and compare part numbers along with making phone calls. I can assure you it won't be cheap regardless of your choice. Most will tell you once you start hitting 150 - 200 wtq the stock Honda transmissions die and instant death. Hell, they can't even handle a stock B20.

Turbo suggestions for a stock B20 in my 2000 CR-V and 225-250 whp? I want to keep AC and PS and I almost never rev high, my car rarely if ever sees 6000 rpm. I was thinking a T3 super 60, but I am undecided on a .48 or .63 turbine.

Shame there aren't off the shelf gerotor setups you can mount inline on any prop shaft to replace the VCU's on some cars, would help Honda, VW ,Volvo and Landrover peeps...

Some badass setups here btw, props to you guys

An auto CRV turbo is simple, just like any other turbo Honda. Do research before blowing up a thread asking simple faq questions.
You don't even need a tune if you don't want to. On a fmu a missing link you can make decent power for the st. Low end torque and your trans will be fine if it's in good shape already and the fluid is fine.

I just got a crv auto 2 weeks ago solely to prove this, we are going to boost it and my son's b20b integra gsr trans and I'm keeping the crv simple it's my daily and we are gonna use engine management on his because it's 5speed. Mine is rtawd it's been done successful before. Google it

Hey guys, I have a stock 1999 CRV AWD, I am moving to CO and after a trip out there it is obvious that I will be low on power for the hills. I have a new 2017 CRV with a factory turbo. I like turbos and want to add one to my 1999, I just want to keep it simple and get more power. I can make most things and work with metal, I have a TIG welder for alum. I would like any info as how to put together a turbo setup. I looked at the kits and they stop at 2002. I have a motorcycle mechanic background. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your reply..
