Default I'm new to the sight and here's my "VCR" story

So I have been driving this silver 97 crv real time 4wd that we call the VCR for almost 3 years and have had so many great times in it. It is all stock with a customade intake pipe and a muffler.. I have always off roaded it and have proven itself among all of my friends full sized trucks. I have mudded my car for 3 years I have pulled out full sized ford and jeeps. I have only had to replace the trans once after all the froadin an racing it's been through in 3 years. I gotta say I never would of thought a crv could ever do things I made it do. It's seriously a economic tank with 4 wheels. I mean I've drifted the car out in an open field tipped it on its driver side and still she runs like brand new. My car has 202k miles on it.
Now I just need to lift it and figure out some low end torque performance uPgrades to supply some off road tires can anyone help me on ideas?

Thanks

torque? lol. boost it or increase mechanical advantage with smaller tires. and if it has an auto trans, any extra torque you make coupled with the abuse you describe is going to dramatically shorten the life of everything between the flex plate and the axles. but there are a few other guys on here with way more off-road input.

If you want some extra torque you are going to need to do a conversion to auto to standard. You can do this and it is possible. With standard you can do a lot much more to your motor without messing anything up. You can just upgrade some parts for the auto tranning but at the end it's going to cost the same as the conversion.

Hope this helps! Good luck with the Build!
