Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
The leather stretch tonneau cargo cover is $250... and I can't justify it either that's why I want this guy from Mid-Atlantic regional classifieds to text me already.
BTW the net came in today... it's not like the pic. I need to put it in to see if I'm gonna send it back or not. Will post pics because I'ma pic *****.

Little inconsequential update:
So I've been losing about 1-2 quarts every 3,000 miles. Did an oil change today and I think I found out where I was losing some of the oil. First the oil filter was BARELY on. Like I spun it free without gripping it tight at all. There was a nice line of dirty oil exactly where it drained out that shows it had been leaking there. Replaced it with an OEM S2000 oil filter, I use them on all my Honda's and they work very well.
Additionally the drain bolt has TWO non OEM washers that were crushed on there so tight it took a chisel to get them off. I replaced them with an OEM Al crush washer.
I've been putting the oil change off since I got it and I regret it now LOL.
Put some clean oil, pushed the maintenance tab in with the key and called it a day.
Just got an email that my drop in K&N filter was delivered to the house today so I'll install that tonight.
Oh and here's a crappy pic of the cargo net. Not 100% happy with it but it'll do. It's actually way more functional than the pic makes it look LOL. That's a 34 lb. bag of dog food LOL.
Used the ramps today... it was silly LOL. So much room.
Been plotting something... gotta see how much space is inside the wiper/latch cover for the rear glass. If it's like the EG one I could totally drill a hole and mount the camera inside the cover. Tell me that wouldn't be slick as snail snot.

That would be pretty nice...try it out!
I was thinking that drilling the rear bumper would be perfect for the camera...but given how the bumpers like to fade colors it might stand out too much..

BB- Never got those crush washers from MSchu.
Are you looking at rubber mats for the thing? At least the rear with all the stuff, helped my Wife's Toyota keep stuff from moving around.

LOL I have no idea what crush washers from MSchu you're referring to. I got mine from Heritage Honda LOL. I really want a set of WeatherTech laser measured floor mats for it but the only ones they sell for it now are the universals. They may bring em back. I got them to bring back the 92 hatch mats LOL.

Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
So I learned 2 things last night:
1) The OEM tonneau style cargo cover rods are about 3/4" shorter than they would be if I had designed them. This makes the grommets almost a necessity.
2) Once you fix the ends by applying heat shrink to them so they won't slide back and forth it works QUITE well.
I also installed the 50/50 tail lights.
I have yet to install the side bars . I'm gonna mask them up very well and spray the CR-V logo with some Rustoleum Reflective Finish. It'll make it so the CR-V logo almost lights up when hit by headlights at night. Should look good and increase visibility.
Put the Pioneer head unit in today, also. I installed a parking brake switch delete so you can watch DVDs from the back seat while I'm driving. This head unit has so many ******* features. I love it. Pics in the next post.

Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
Currently got a Turbo D16Z6 91 project, and the 92 EG is down at the moment. So I've been trying NOT to think too much about it. BUT I'd be lying if I said I'm not watching that thread with interest.
I'd likely 5 Speed this one before I do all that. But if the motor goes all bets are off .

Updates look nice. Stop spending money on this and fix the hatch.

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
I am selling my CRV, just buy mine and forget the ga... I mean K-swap.
Are you asking if they had a 5-Speed FWD RD1? Not in the US. All 5-Speeds are AWD here. They probably figured people can't drive stick worth a **** in the winter here. Autos can be FWD or AWD.

Nope, done with Hondas as a whole is what it means. My circle track cars, my CRV, anything related to Honda. I just haven't had time to put together an ad for it yet, not in a hurry to sell. I already sold off my other built Honda cars as well as a bunch of stuff. What I couldn't sell word of mouth is what you see on my ads. I am a pretty private person. For now, I am keeping my EK work beater for now though, waiting for the right old model but still brand new on the lot deals to replace it with.

Re: Burnout's 99 CR-V EX AWD
The 2nd gen K series CR-Vs were available with a manual or a 4 speed OR 5 speed auto depending on trim. I was wondering if a AWD 5 speed B series auto exists from any platform. I can't think of any AWD b series other than the first gen CR-V though...

The K&N drop in really does help it hold gear better and not downshift to 3rd all the time but with the broken midpipe it sounds like I wanna race every time it does so it's pretty noticeable right now LOL.
