1999 CR-V 4WD/AT Problems
Looks like the transmission on my CR-V is fried.
It started with my girlfriend saying that it was revving really high when she was going about 40MPH.
She gets home and I hop in the CR-V. First I put in in drive and step on the brakes and give it gas, it revs up to about 3k and stays there, so I figured it wasn't the torque converter.
I start driving down the road and it shifts into 2nd fine but when it tries to shift into 3rd the RMPs shoot up then it switches into 3rd.
I take the CR-V to a back road and start from a stand still and test it again with the same results.
At this point I stop and shift it into 1st gear (it's an AT) and notice the lever is hard to move, like there's some resistance, and I drive for a little bit not to exceed 2.5k RPMs.
I then put it in 2nd and do the same thing.
I then shift it in R and do the same thing.
At this point I put it in D and drive for a little bit.
I go through the cycle again and all of the sudden the car won't move now. 1st, it revs but does not move. 2nd, same thing. D, same thing. R, same thing.
At this point I think the transmission is done, unless anyone has any insight.
So what I'm trying to find out is, what is the model\part\code number of the transmission so I can look at buying another one? I tired using the search function before posting and have had no luck.
I've tried searching on ebay, but I'm getting different numbers like SKSA-400321, SKPA-1001934, etc...is there a definitive part to look for?
I ended up leaving it at a mechanic who's right down the road from my house.
An hour later, I thought I left my wallet in the car so I walked back to scope it out and thought "What the hell" popped the key in, put it in D and it drove.
I drove it back to my house and started driving it forward and reverse for like 20-30 feet a couple times, then I just parked it.
Things I noticed;
The lever was still a little hard to move.
When I put it in D a drove it forward a little bit, it sounded clunky.
Fast forward to this morning.
I setup some gator ramps to pull the car onto, so I could work on it when I got off work, and it wouldn't go into D.
I can pop it in reverse and it goes, but now it's not going into drive.

Re: 1999 CR-V 4WD/AT Problems
I changed the fluids in the tranny yesterday 3x.
I was able to drive it around the neighborhood, then it died again.
Didn't know TPS could effect the slippage, but I'll give it a look.
