ZC Swap Into Base DX w/Auto Trans
Have been searching all the jdm sites with no luck. I realize it's not ideal but, the 1.5 is shot and a little increase in power would be good. If the auto trans will work, can anyone help with the rest of the mods needed to do the swap (wiring, ecu, etc.).

Haha, I will help as I have considered doing this swap myself. You will first need to do a MPFI swap, your car is DPFI right now. Also you will need an OBDO automatic Integra ECU (if the swap is DOHC) or a 90-91 Civic EX auto ECU (if the swap is SOHC). Everything else such as the mounts and tranny will bolt right up.

Re: (bagpipe goatee)
Why would I need the Integra ECU? Can't the DX ECU be converted to work correctly? If the new ECU is required, would the JDM ZC ECU out of an automatic car be the best choice? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I have everything I need before I start the swap. Thanks

If you are going to go manual, check out my guide, http://www.4gcivic.net
If you stay auto, make sure to replace the tourque converter on the auto. MPFI is not that hard, you will need the ZC ecu or a pm6. There was someone on this board that had a dpfi ZC..... But I would not recomend that.

No you can't use the DX ecu, it won't work. Also you can't use a PM6 ecu, the ecu you use has to be from an automatic car. You can use the JDM ecu, as long as its auto. Are you swapping in a sohc zc or a dohc zc?

Why do u want a slushbox anyway?! If you want to do it right get a ZC manual and put a rex si final drive in it.That is the best setup. As far as your ecu(if u use a manual)the pm6 will work just get a mugen mod chip a your rockin CASE CLOSED

Re: (EF fanatic)
Swapping in a dohc zc motor. Car is a auto and super clean, so it will stay auto. The car is for my daughter and she doesn't need the added confusion of shifting. I will most likley rebuild or replace the trans at the same time to help avoid and trouble down the road. Does anyone know if there were any differences in the auto trans that came factory mated to the ZC and the one in my DX?

i asked the same question a few months back (no answer). seems like a US EX or JDM/EDM ZC auto trans might be different.
