The problem you are describing sounds like a cable that goes from the old auto shifter the the key switch that will not release the key when it is not in park. I am not entirly sure the ef auto had that. If it does it is a case of pulling or pushing the cable to make the ignition relax and let the key out. As far as not starting, same ecu? at least you need to ground the ecu wire that is neutral safety switch wire.

There are so many reasons like simply a stuck key, how to u do the wiring? ECU swap? what else did you do?

So you got the key to turn it on then jumped the starter I assume. If so you are close, check on the things I have listed. I am going on a service call, wont be home for hours.

thanks for the help, i know its not the ecu because thats a PR4 so im good there...i'll check on the neutral safety switch wire though...as for the key, if you put the key in and roll it forward the only way u can get it out is if you disconnect the battery...and yes, we did the ol "starter ground plug to the positvie terminal" to get it to start...where would that cable be?

Then there is an electric cylinoid on the ignition mechanical switch part you need to remove, take the column plastic off and have a buddy hook and unhook the battery and remove and discard the clicking part. The only reason I asked about the ecu is because if it is a auto ecu then you have to ground the neutral saftely switch wire to make the starter work with the key. Hope this helps gotta go.
