Run a wire from the + side of you battery to the solenoid. That will turn it on. Disconnect that wire and its off.

What ECU are you using? If it is an ECU that controls VTEC, then it would go to pin A8, however the ECU is also going to look for other VTEC units, like pressure switch, etc that you will need to hook up.

If you are not running with a VTEC ECU, what are you planing to use to control VTEC?

You should have something more than a toggle switch (or putting it to your battery, as that might be hard while driving

VTEC engines would need more than just something to control VTEC from say a normal SI ECU, it requires more mapping of fuel and timing for a safe and long lived engine.

dude i gonna hop in this thread since i wanna know how to hook up mines when finshing up my sohc vtec head rebuild. i need a oil pressure sensor tho.

Ive got a pm6 with turboedit running one wire vtec now..And its great..Uses the factory output for the a/c clutch relay to click on vtec.All you do is run a wire direct from the solenoid to the pinout for the a/c clutch..And thats it..Then with the turboedit program you control the rpm point which it clicks on..

you can ground the green pressure switch to the thermostat housing, then wire the Vtec signal wire right from the soleniod to the pin in the ecu, then it will work fine, you dont have to plug it into and ac pins or anything, vtec will engage at the set point that your ecu has on it

you can find pin-outs for your cars by searching around on honda-tech a little bit

ok its really easy there are two wires on the green pressure switch right /one go to ground /the other one go to the ecu pin b5 witch is the vtec pressure switch/ step two vtec signal/solnoid go to pin a8


this is for obdo 88 to 91

Yeah thats only if you have a vtec ecu,,But if you have say a pm6 you can use the a/c output and use turbedit to control the rpm point..

You dont ..Its 1 wire vtec..Theres no need for 2nd o2,knock,and oil pressure switch,..Its just one wire from the ecu to the solenoid..

Yeah leave it unplugged,,Its only 1 wire to the vtec solenoid like I said 3 times already..
