Default What is the best option

I have a 1989 Honda Civic Hatch. When purchased as a runabout it already had a 2nd generation zc motor transplant in it. The motor is tired as it smokes on gear changes. I want to change the bottom end and have found a motor. The dilemma I have is will the head bolt onto a D15b7 block. If it does what are the pro's and con's or do I just put the D15b7 non vtec motor in it

If it's a single cam ZC head then it will work with the B7 block BUT it's basically the same head. If the B7 engine is complete I'd recommend installing it as is and if you feel so inclined you can use the ZC camshaft in the B7 head. This way you don't introduce potential problems by removing the head. Worth noting is the timing will be off as the ZC camshaft is meant for a taller block, please see the FAQ for further info.
