Default Where to order special Honda tools from?

First off, I really couldn't figure out the best forum to post this in so Mods, please feel free to move this to a more suitable one if possible.

Anyway, the Helm manual I have mentions the use of several special tools. I know there are equivalent tools, but I'm curious as to how I can go about ordering the specific special tools that Honda mentions. Is there a website I can go to? I've tried the dealership, but they would not sell me the tools for some reason, saying something about I'd have to go through their distributor to get them?

So anyway, anyone know where I can get the special tools from? Again, I know there are equivalents, but nonetheless, I'm looking for the specific Honda ones.

Thanks in advance!

that's odd. Given that you have the part numbers, you should be able to order them without any hassles... oh, and you don't need to have a shop or be a certified mechanic as well..

Well, in particular, the 2 tools I'm looking for are the Belt Tension Gauge (T/N 07JGG-001010A) and the Ball Joint Remover (T/N 07MAC-SL00200). So Snap-On carries these 2 tools? I didn't see them listed on their website though.

It should also be noted that in the Helm manual it says to use ONLY the above mentioned belt tension gauge, if that helps. That's one reason why I'm specifically looking for these exact tools. I've got a belt tension gauge that works on certain Chrysler vehicles, but I can't use it on the Hondas because the gauge is all clunky and is shaped somewhat differently.

Why do you need a belt tension gauge? Just use the 1/4 twist rule. If you can't twist the belt more than 1/4 of a turn than its good to go.

There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to buy them from your local dealer. You may want to try a different dealer.

I don't know if anyone's quoted you a price yet, but they CERTAINLY aren't cheap.

07MAC-SL00200 (Ball Joint tool) - Honda Suggested Retail - $166.76

07TGG-001000A (s/s from your part number) - HSR - $371.46

Good luck.

Was just gonna say the same thing, don't waste your money on the belt tension gauge.

Hmm. Wonder why the dealer I went to was telling me that? Ah well, that dealership's never seemed to like me one reason or another. Well anyway, thanks guys for your input!

Yeah that belt tension gauge's price sure is scary, but I'll consider the ball joint tool, as I plan to be working on suspension quite a bit.
