Default DOHC ZC swap running VERY poorly.. timing off? please take a look

I just put my dohc zc in my crx and when I start it.. it runs really low and kinda weak, its like bump bump bump bump.. so ya maybe the timing is off? I have a new cap n rotor, plugs n wires aren't new. Battery, starter and alternator are good. tried turning on and let it run for like three seconds and turn it off.. I've tried it like three times.. it has skunk2 cam gears on it.. is there any other thing you guys can think of that it might be? Please help me out guys, thanks

Oh and if its not in time would a compression test read wrong? I know this stuff sounds noobish but I really just need to know, thanks again HT

what rpm is the idle? Check engine light? see what happens when it revs. check for vacuum leaks, go over the grounds, and re time with OEM gears (sell skank2 garbage) replace plugs and wires.

This one gets me all the time at work, if you have a problem with the engine running right and you don't know how od the plugs and wires are, why are you not replacing them??

make sure the plugs are in the right order. and its simple to check the timing. just take off the top timing cover. align the crank pulley with the 0- on the lower timing cover, and see if the cam gear lines are lined up.
