Default what head gasket

can i use any d series head gasket on my mini me setup, i have a d15b2 block with a d16z6 head??

you can use the head gasket from the B2 (it's made from the Fel-Pro thick stuff) or you can use the Z6 one (thinner coated metal gasket). Using the Z6 one will bump up compression just slightyl (like .1) but since you are using the B2 block, I'd go with the B2 head gasket to maintain compression for 89 octane since gas prices are so high.

the z6 is the best head gasket for a SOHC d-series honda ever made. use it.

I always thought that your supposed to use the HG for whatever block you have

Most people say that the Z6 is the best gasket for your mini-me swap, because it is thinner, and metal. The Y8's are prone, and are known for leaks.

I thought the Y8 head gasket was thinner than the Z6 one, that's why those who want to bump up their compression ration use the Y8 one. Also, aren't both the Z6 and Y8 gaskets metal?

On a mini-me, you are supposed to use gasket that corresponds to the head that you are using.
