YOu mean, DOHC, which stands for duel over head camshafts, which has one camshaft for the intake valves, and one camshaft for the exhaut valves, and allows for more tunability(word?).
EDIT:
crap, you beat me to it.

Re: what dose DOCH mean? (y49crxsi)
thanks I know it was a stupid question but I had to know somehow
and here is another stupid question. How dose having a dule overhead cam increase HP? wouldnt it just use more gas because it has to turn 2 cranks instead of 1?

on a 4 cylinder honda engine there is only one crank, and an intake cam and exhaust cam, and numerous other things...

a sohc engine can perform just as well with the right cam but a dohc allows you to adjust the cam timing on the intake and exhaust sides independently so you can better tune your power curve.
some systems, like the new i-vtec engines take advantage of this by adjusting cam timing during engine operation to optimize things over a broader rpm band

YOu mean dual overhead camshafts. Sorry man, I had to. Yeah, DOHC's are great for adjustability, but SOHCs are hella cheaper. Thats why I use (quick zoom in) SOHC. Sorry, I always dreamed of getting paid to do cheesy comercials...

right you are. The SOHC can do better. It allows for a tighter head package, and has lower parasitic (Sp?) drag and rotating mass. With 2 identicle engines (other than the # of cams) and both tuned idealy you would get more power out of the SOHC, not because it is making more, but because less is wasted on keeping it running.
Actually DOCH is how Sean Connary pronounces DOCK, which is a thing that boats tie up to at the shore.
