Water pump inlet pipe
I have a 1991 DX w/ 178000. Just wondering if I have to remove the water pump to get that silly pipe out or would pulling the engine be just as easy? The pipe is damaged, recon I ought to replace the water pump if I have to take it off? Thanks

Re: Water pump inlet pipe (shilly)
you dont have to remove the pump but since ya gonna be in that deep anyhow ya should change it out anyway if ya dont knw the last time it was changed and ya shoud prob change the belt out also.
to remove the pipe.
remove intake manifold, with all lines hoses and plugs
remove all hoses that attach to the pipe and thermostat housing, and wires
there are two 10mm bolts that hold the thermostat housing to the block remove those and wiggle the pipe out.
install is reverse.
