Default valve tick

Ok my car started ticking. The tick is not consitant, hear it , then it stop, rev the car up nothing then back down to idle tick tick tick, ticks but goes away after 2-4 ticks.

Just did a valve lash today, 7 on intake and 8 on exhaust, still does it. Car seems to run better but still have the tick. Not loud like a bent valve but loud enough to notice. Any suggestions?

You probably got a valve sticking. I have heard of burning power steering fluid to cure that.

What engine do you have?
The B16's sometimes have issues with the "lost motion assemblies"

I had to replace mine shortly after I got it running..

Foreign material in the guide. Some oils are better than others like pennzoil leaves parifin wax in the motor BAD!

I think I paid like $140.00 for the set off ebay..
(brand-new ITR units)

LMAs are like little shock absorbers for the VTEC lobe
when it is not engaged..I ran/set the valve lash several times
and it still ticked.. I replaced the LMAs and it has been perfect ever since..

What happens is the spring inside loses it's tensile strength..

I had the same problem before. I noticed that it happens alot with the auto b16. If your block serial number starts with a 1 it's an auto. I put the skunk2 stage 2 cams in mine and not too long after, the ticking started. It wont damage the motor, but my motor got to the point that it sounded horrible and you can actually hear it from afar. I eventually took it out.
