Supercharger CRX VTEC
I plan to buy a 1990 CRX VTEC and want to place a supercharger in it. Had a 1992 vtec back in 1998 and I am pretty sure I found one from Jackson Racing.... Planned to place one in that car too. Checked their site now, but they only got for the Si engine?...
I see that it's more common with turbo, but I like the idea to have power from the start.
Where and whom might have one for this engine?
Grateful for all help!
Ruben

Re: Supercharger CRX VTEC (AJxr)
I will see the car this friday, will come back with the specifications. How many different engines are there in '90 CRX VTEC?

jackson superchargers ARE not the same for all d series.
they will bolt up... but the ports are larger from the manifold to the head. (d16z6)
the S tube is different (TB placement)
pulley size is different.
a kit running 6 PSI on a d16z6 with 4 rib belt (4pk1245) and stock crank pulley ...would run 8PSI on a D16a6 with 3 rib belt (3pk1220) on stock crank pulley.

You American guys are not good informed about the cars in Europe i hear....
The guy has a CRX VTEC, its a CRX EE8 it has a B16A1 stock and is allmost the same car as JDM CRX SiR.
Rubster get the kit for US Del Sol VTEC, but for fuelmanagement, you have totally different than US OBD1 and OBD0 cars, get a Apexi VAFC and a couple bigger injectors.

hey numb nuts, i dont know if you peak your head into more crx engine bays other than your own but if you did then you would realize that there is more than one vtec motor that would be able to be squeezed into the crx engine bay. all he said was that he has a crx vtec. that coulda been anything from a single cam vtec to a type r motor or anything inbetween. so think next time you want to tell someone they arent informed about something when next to none information is given out

power from the start is nice but dont forget about traction problems with front wheel drive cars. that little bit of lag helps allow the tires to grip before you see the extra power.
but boost by any means is just friggin kick *** so whatever route you choose have fun with it.

V-AFC's -SUCK- for fuel management. In fact, if you ever refer to it as "fuel management" again, I'm going to kick your ***.
It's a piggyback system that is usable to apply MINOR changes to a fuel map.
Now if you want "fuel management" you'll buy an OBD1 conversion set with a chipped P30 or P06 or anything comparable...and make your own map.
It'll be cheaper than buying a VAFC too.

In most European country you only have 2 model of CRX. The VTEC that is a B16A1 and a 16i-16 that is the Dohc non-VTEC (dont remember the block name)
