sounds like worn brake pads

sounds like worn brake pads
when I drive, wether im braking or not, i hear a sound that sounds like old brake pads rubbing against the rotors. I changed out the drivers side axle and it drives fine, just makes this weird noise all the time. I also forgot to use brake cleaner to get the grease off of the rotors while I was bleeding the brakes.
any ideas?

it sounds like a light grind, not too terrible but enough for friends to hear it while driving by them, sounds like both sides though, which is weird

no i didnt knock the hub ring off.
and no i dont feel anything through the chassis, just while the windows are open.
can leaving grease on the brake rotors cause it to do this?
i forgot to clean them off before leaving for school later that day
