i need a new shift linkage for my crx. It has a LS motor with HCP mounts. Will ANY shift linkage thats made for a b-series swap into a CRX work? Or do I need an HCP shift linkage?

There are certian things you dont want to dick around with when It comes to cars. A shiftlinkage is one of them, you can use one from a 90-93 teg and it needs to be shorted. Some peeps I know have never gotten it to be the right length while others seem to do just fine. I enjoyed bolting up my HASPORT one, easy cake.

you make it sound like it's a bolt on afair.. like an intake or something..
hasport and hcp make adjustable ones.. wait i know hcp does i dont know about hasport but they will both work...
shops taht usually shorten it for you usually never get it perfect..
i'm using the hcp adjustablt one.. took me forever to get it right.. i used a 95 shifter and trim the sides to make it fit.. this made myine feel better but that's me you can just use your stock one..

I've done 8 "B" swaps. on 3 of them the people bought the linkage. The other 5 I just made the linkage. The first one took two tries to get it right but after that it's pretty easy. If you have access to a welded and have some fabricating skills go for it. if not get the adjustable Hasport

Hasport is not adjustable, It is already shortened to fit the 88-91 CRX/Civic platform. They are from new Teg linkage. They fit and work very well, but are pricy compared to junkyard. I used Hasport and would recommend.

this is the way me and my cousin did dit for a B16A2 swap on his 91 SI and now for the B16A into his 87 CRX.... works great if u know how to weld..... no problems and its well done.

Stock linkages are hollow, then? It seems as if they are in your pictures, otherwise I can't figure out any other way it would work...

I may be new, but I know whats up. How many swaps have you done XtraFastCRX, and how fast is your CRX? Check out http://www.azracemachine.com, cool products, and I've used their shift linkage and havent found one that feels better, or feels like it was made for the car like theirs. Call and talk to them, they know what their talking about. And it is a bolt on affair, as long as you get the right one.

i got a teg linkage and the welder guy i had did it perfect, granted i gave him all the spec and everything, but it came up perfect, well not exactly perfect, it sits alittle bit off and not center in the circle on the chassis for the shifter, about an 1/8 fo an inch off

I have the place racing mounts for 95 ls, sent my old linkage out, going to pick up the new length ones, well see how it works soon.

yes they are hollow.... just a tube...
and yes if u can get a bolt and nuts on home depot for $3, u can make ur shift linkage and save some cash....

I bought the hasport mounts and linkage, and my shifter sits very close to me (not centered)

emailed hasport about this issue, but they never got back to me

I think that they shorten the shift rod 1 inch shorter than they suppose to?

How do you know when you need a new shift linkage?

Would bad linkage make it hard to get into gear, and grind in reverse?

I've seen/dealt with modifying a Xsi teg linkage to fit in a STD hatch b16 swap. It isnt that hard if you have a nice welder and the right metal to re-connect the linkage. Ours worked fine, ask SiRWanabe.......but IMO I would just buy an aftermarket linkage, it's a hell of a lot easier than fabricating/fitting a modified Xsi teg linkage. But it can be done for all you " belt tighteners".

i would suggest only buying a shiftlinkage taht is the same brand as the mounts, every mount kit is a little diff.
