Seatbelt beeper/buzzer
I know this has been covered before, but I have a different question reguarding it, so please read on...
As everyone knows, when you drive along and stop to pick someone up, as soon as they open the passenger door, the seatbelt warning beeps. Now, sometimes it will beep and stop, but sometimes and becoming more prevelant, the beeper continues to beep after the door is closed, and the only way to stop it is to switch the ignition off and restart the car. This gets annoying. How do I fix the sensor (or whatever it is) to operate the way it was intended? I don't want to disconnect it. Maybe I should just leave the seatbelts buckled like they were designed to be, maybe that would fix the problem somehow. Maybe it is the car saying "Use the belts correctly or I will annoy you to death." I just think it looks a little goofy to have those belts always fastened, and having to wrestle them when entering and exiting the vehicle. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE USE THOSE BELTS THE WAY THEY WERE INTENDED. Moreover, WTF, the US was the only place to have this brainchild idea. Some american cars in the late 80s/early 90s had seatbelts on the doors, but never in the manuals did it say to leave them fastened. I guess going back to my original question: why does it constantly beep sometimes and beep then quit other times. If it just beeped then quit all the time I would be happy. Any ideas?
