This thread needs to be ttt because in a few months, it's gonna be standard to see "my car got stolen " threads all over.

Here is the link to the deadbolt idea for secondary door locks. 4 year old thread... I swear someday I'll get around to this project.

I am also located in Long Island. Where do you work? I am looking for someone to do some installs on a couple of cars (not just security). Like installing power door locks in a CRX ect if you do that. Also looking for some fuel pump kill swithes and stuff.

I guess its ironic you say dont let anyone know what you have, yet I am asking you and you install for other people

Well I am very paranoid, but i like to help out. I'll take the risk to spread good knowledge, if it helps one person, its worth it.

PM me with your number, I will contact you and help you out, no problem.

Very good thread. I'm the guy who always talks about the two
alarm systems..the trojan: the decoy and the real one. One thing
you have to remember :to a thief its all about the easy mark!! A car that does
not draw attention to itself when its being violated is as good as gone. It can be pushed or worse even stripped right where it stands.

Personally I got tired of the stolen car threads...why? Because as a veteran installer I knew every car listed did not possess any type of security system!!! Kinda sad really when even the most basic "house brands" could be had for
under $200 installed!! F#$#K a 2-way!!!...what do you think we did before
the 2-ways came out!!

Anyway Nuff said-good job kid.

thanks for all the tips been shitting bricks cause of alot of my friends cars being stolen and your right that many thieves read these forums expletive thieves and their lack of respect for hard working people and our projects maybe sections of racers in certain areas should look out for each other when we post about cars that were stolen. after all thieves are not racist, discriminant, nor are they really picky about the cars they steal be carful who you tell your setups too and how you tell them about your car......sometimes telling them one thing is just enough to get you robbed.....evny is a vile thing....

Maybe I missed it if someone else mentioned it already, but you can't forget quick-release steering wheels. Ideally, you'd get one with a locking cap, so that a thief cannot just bring their own wheel if they have noticed you have certain generic "race" quick release.

I picked up a Grant release system off ebay for roughly $70 and it came with the locking cap.

No Honda-Tech "JDM bling", but honestly, I couldn't care less. The unit is stout and gets the job done for a very reasonable price.

JC whitney has the dead bolt actuators. I just got a set last week. They are a little hard to find. Search for 'remote lock' to find them. I am still working on the install, I'll try to post pics next week when done.
