Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
does anyone know if the spoon twin block calipers will work on the 88-91 crx front knuckles?? is there a bracket or will the bolt holes line up? yeah i know the itr/gsr knuckles bolt right up but i don't wanna change out my crx knuckles, they have already been redone with all new oem replacement parts. i'd like to get the spoon to work with my stock setup.
& yeah i will upgrade the rotors as well
thanks!

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
legend dual piston calipers
mini cooper rotors (10' or 11's i believe)
DC control arms
extended studs
auto part store pads.
am going to upgrade to slotted/drilled rotors later
steel braided lines
and for the record: i did NOT have to shave the bracket to make the setup fit

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
Anything is possible. But I'm sure it's not a direct bolt on.
This thread is also years old.
But I would like to chime in on:
I have these on my EF. I didn't have to do anything to correct the suspension. It's not that bad at all.
This thread is also years old.
But I would like to chime in on:
2) 90-91 Integra knuckle
10.3" rotor and bigger caliper
Notes or Questions:
a) What must be done to correct the suspension (toe, camber, caster)
b) is the rotor and caliper the same spec as 90-91 EX ?

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
Hey guys,
I know it has been a few years since someone has posted in this thread, but I thought I should start here.
I have been using this brake upgrade write up (Brakes)
to complete my upgrade on a 91 civic Si. To my amazement it already had the EX knuckles with the raised letters LH3-A and RH3-A (Swapped by previous owner I'm assuming). It has the smaller 9.5" rotors with the stock caliper.
I purchased the larger rebuilt calipers stamped with 17CL14VN (Should be from 90-91 Civic EX sedan), same as in this photo.
http://www.performanceforum.com/wesv...brakes/bk4.jpg
When I bolt them to the spindle, the bolt holes line up perfectly. However, the 9.5" rotor is already just about rubbing the bottom on thel new larger caliper when I spin it. I expected there to be a large gap, allowing me to use a 10.3" rotor. It also does not seem to be perfectly centered between the caliper.
Do you know if the 9.5" rotor will work with the 17CL14VN caliper? I am not sure how to move forward to resolve this.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
You can use spacers/machining to center the rotor, but i'm not too sure where the caliper is hitting the rotor, could you post a picture of where it's hitting?

I explained my whole setup a few posts above this one, but here is what I'm working with again.

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
Your pictures show RH3-H and LH3-H. You have stock knuckles for your car (not the EX RH/LH3-A knuckles).
See here for comparison pictures: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...rison-1241022/
Sorry to burst your bubble but this was painfully obvious to point out.

Re: Official EF Front Brake Thread
hey guys sorry to re-revive this thread but i’ve been searching around and can’t find any info on my situation before i spend the $$, i’ve got an 89 dx hatch and needed new hubs when i went to do my wheel bearings. i saw “sedan” hubs (not specified what submodel) on rockauto for cheap so figured i’d go with them and return if quality wasn’t all there. pressed everything together and was a breeze, however when i went to bolt everything up, i got to my rotors and my 9.5” rotors wouldn’t fit. did some research and determined i had received ex hubs. now i am trying to figure out if i can run ex rotors with my dx calipers or if i need ex calipers as well. also will either of these setups fit under 15” wheels? *sidenote* i am at a tech college currently and my buddy is a machining major and said hell make me adapter brackets i just need to make sure everything CAN work if done properly
