Re: Need info on LS Swaps in EF9's =) (sdhatch)
if it's a 90 STD hatch it's an ED6
EF9 is the JDM SiR hatchback US's were only:
ED3 - Sedan DX/LX
ED4 - Sedan EX
ED6 - Hatch STD/DX
ED7 - Hatch Si
ED8 - CRX HF/DX
ED9 - CRX Si
As for the swap there's been many posts on grocery lists for LS blocks. Start by going here:

A new book was recently put out called "Honda Engine Swaps", that was written by Aaron Bonk.
It's well written and pretty much up to date (except for the fact that Place Racing is out of business).
What I did notice is that he is unlike others in that he isn't totally biased toward Hasport. At this point, I'd recommend Hasport's mounts, but it's nice to see that there are other options used by the pros.
The list would be something like;
Mounts and shift linkage.
All items to convert to OBD1 if it's a latter version of the LS.

i've been wanting to do the same swap on my 90 si. a 90-91 integra swap is ideal. correct me if i am wrong anybody...
-motor, trans + other assorted motor stuff (you will need a da drivers side mount, this is the mount that bolts to the motor)
-mounts: i've used them all and the hasport/hasport style ones are the easiest to go in.
-linkage: you can cut + reweld the da ones or just buy premades for simplicity
-i think you may need different knuckles because std's have a smaller spline count. i'd sell mine if i can find another set.
-ecu, obd0 pr4 if you want simplicity but obd1 with ubderdata is awsome for tuning purposes.
-do a waterpump, timing belt and other seals before it goes in. longevity is a very cool thing.
i think i live kinda near you, let me know if you need any help.

Yeah, go with Teg axles. If the LS motor is a 90-93, get 90-93 axles and intermediate shaft. If its a 94+ LS motor, you can get 90-93 axles and intermediate shaft, but get the axle seal for the tranny that corresponds to the axles.
So if you have a 94+ tranny and 90-93 axles, get a 90-93 trany seal and vise versa.
I had 94+ axles on my 92-93 gsr tranny and had a leak since it had the 92-93 seals. Swapped the axle out for a 90-93 - no more leak.
Since you have a STD, you'll need to do the dpfi-mpfi conversion also. You'll probably need a new throttle cable. Even though you can rig the DX/STD one to work, its about 6 feet long and looks kinda goofy.
Does the swap come with a cable tranny or a hydro? If its hydro, you'll need to get the hasport conversion kit. Otherwise, sell the hydro tranny, and buy a cheaper set of mounts and a cable tranny.
the HF crx and STD hatch have the smaller hubs as well, so you'll need the knuckles/hubs off like an Si or a DX crx.
You should also consider getting it BAR approved so the cops down here in SD can't hassle you as much.
Anyways, let me know if you have any other questions. My friend and I have done this swap into his 88 HF.

Re: (sdhatch)
Since it came out of a Del Sol then the motor is more then likely obd-1. If so then you can either convert your car to obd-1 or keep it obd-0. If you keep it obd-0 you have to get a distributor off the 90-91 teg and the ecu from 90-91 teg. I put a LS out of a 93 teg in one of my crx's and i had to get the 90-91 teg ecu and distributor. then you have to get the usual stuff like mounts, linkage, and hit a lil dent in your body where the alternator sits, and thats pretty much it. oh yeah and you have to convert to mpfi and change the knuckles. i used the axles that came off the 93 teg. good luck with the swap, its real easy.
