Okay so the engine is in and every hose and wire is hooked up. As expected when I turned the key nothing happened. I was temped to hot wire it across the starter but I didn't want to get impatient and ruin something after putting so much work into this car. Hoping to get this thing running tomorrow I just need to figure out how to bypass this Neutral safety switch.

well i guess that means its my turn

part one
ok in the car where the old auto shifter wiring is
Connect the 2 larger black wires together These wires are for the starter they are only connected when
the car is in nuetral or park. Solder these two wires together and heat shrink.

part two

If you have cruise control, the pink wire in the shifter harness is supposed
to be wired through the clutch pedal switch when your car was auto this wire would indicate that the shifter
is in a forward gear, and not in P,R, or N I suggest you hook up the 2 wires on the clutch pedal switch to
this pink wire and ground for it to be hooked up and operate properly

part 3

You will need to ground the Green/White wire from the shifter harness this wire makes sure
that the car is in "park", and will allow you to remove the ignition key The alternative
is to swap to the 5 speed ignition switch but theres no point because then you would have two keys

let me know how it goes
good luck

Thanks! I'm about to get to it. So I can ignore PT2 if I don't have CC right?

It Lives! I connected the two heavy gauge wires and turned the key and it fired up after a few cranks! It sounds pretty smooth, I was not able to locate a green/white wire in my auto harness but interestingly I can remove the key no problem. The only thing that is of some concern is there is a blinking green "S4"warning light that I'm not sure what that is for, but I'm about to look it up. My only other issue that I'm aware of is the reverse lights. There is a green and a yellow wire coming out of the Manual trans and there is a green and a yellow wire dangling near it that used to go to the AT, I'm temped to connect them but its not that simple right?

I need a main shaft out of an automatic, for my 91' rt 4wd. Any chance you'd sell your tranny to me? Having a hard time finding one and it's my daily driver, Thanks

Absolutely! I have no use for these surplus AT parts and would love to see them put to use, I'm assuming the main shaft is inside the trans? I'd rather not get into taking it apart but would sell the whole transmission for $75+ shipping.

I just remembered the S4 is the sport mode on the AT. I'm planning to switch out the instrument clusters so hopefully that takes care of all the warning lights.

That would be great, was the tranny working before you pulled it?

Yes, it seemed to work fine, but jsut FYI the mileage on the car is unknown but I would estimate it is over 200k. Where are you located? I'll PM you this evening. -Chris

Thanks man, and thanks for the support, It will be this weekend at the earliest, I still have a long punch list including some unknowns like the reverse lights and the donor car needs to be dismantled because its blocking the path to the door.
