to start off, no, i'm not a JDM freak. however, i was browsing a site about VIN numbers and according to this site, my car was made in japan. its left hand drive of course. i thought all hondas in the US were either made in the US or canada??? can someone explain this?

this is what i found in my VIN:

1st POSITION NATION OF ORIGIN
J = Japan
11th POSITION ASSEMBLY PLANT
S = Suzuka, Japan

like i said, i'm not obsessed over JDM crap, and i realize by now that my car is left hand drive. however, i was just looking for some insight on where hondas are produced for the states.

my wagon is from japan, my mom's 91 accord is from japan, my unncles 87 accord is from japan, my sisters 88 accord is from japan, my dads 89 civic 4 door is from japan, my friends 88 crx hf is from japan...luck of the draw i guess

Not all were made in Japan there were candian models aswell. It should say where its from on the sticker on the inside of the driver side door.

if the vin starts with a 1 then its a USA honda
a J and its a JAPAN honda
a 2 and its a CANADA honda

ALL crx's were made in japan. vin code starts with JHM. most of the hatches and 4drs were made over here

Now, they make Hondas over here in the U.S. but back in the 4th gen days (and before), most Hondas were made in Japan. I believe that all CRXes were made in Japan, but I could be wrong.
