mini me question
For a d16a6 block d16z6 head, all the write ups say to use a z6 belt. After I loosened the tensioner I could not get the belt on... So I threw a d15b2 belt on there and for some reason it actually tensioned up nicely. Hasanyone ran a mini swap with the b2 belt without any problems?
- I'm using the zc block, but I have a b2 water pump, so I'm not sure if that affects the belt choice...

The problem is that you need a 105 tooth timing belt which to my knowledge no Honda has. I've read this in the past and its worth a shot as people has used it
The 1996-1997 Hyundai Accent 1.5L DOHC timing belt, Gates part number T282, same teeth design and 105 teeth, close to the same width and has the same tooth pitch

I have a mini me setup right now. Not running but all together in the car. I used a b2 block and z6 head with a z6 belt. It feels just right. Everything I have seen says to use the belt which corresponds to the head. At the same time the VX belts are supposed to be a tooth shorter so that may work too.

Re: mini me question
I read a post about that Hyundai belt too.
I know with the b2 block z6 head( I did this a while back) it worked with the z6 belt, like when you pull up on the belt to get it over the camshaft gear, it rotates everything like a few degrees and allows you to pull it over.
I figured the zc block has the same deck as the z6, so the only difference is the water pump and tensioner, I thought for sure the z6 belt would go on with ease.
I did also read that the z6 head is I believe 93mm and the a6 head is 95mm, not sure if the numbers. Are correct, but the z6 head is shorter, so I would need a shorter belt, think the a6 is 107, b2 is 106, z6 is 104 and z1 is 103... Then for every 1mm of head difference it equals 2mm more belt that's needed.
