The first shot is after some paint clean up work I did, here is a close-up of the paint before:
Light scratches and swirls:
Embedded small black and rust colored specs all over, you can see some in that light glare here:
Had to use two new claybars after trying to wash and wax out the scratches and embedded stuff:
After the clay and another quick pass with hand applied cleaner wax, all minor scratches and surface stuff is out, check out the first pic for a view of the paint from a few feet away:
Still needs a little more cleaning, especially around emblems and side molding, and some spots still look a little cloudy so next step will be an orbital buffer.

Yup - that Vette is why my honda projects get put on hold. Here's another shot:
And there are a few more from a road trip I did last summer posted here:

I picked this one up for $2,500 - which is kind of high, but it had cold AC, original motor, low miles, and the body/paint and interior are pretty clean so I didn't try to bargain much. I paid the same for my other sedan 6 yrs ago, this one will most likely look very similar when done (picture below).
But I don't plan to do an engine swap on this one - i'll keep the performance mods on the 90, and this 89 will stay simple.

Ok, back on topic, the glass all around the car was stained and had hard water spots that wouldn't wash off. (even tried cleaner wax on the glass to see if it would help):
So I got something called Hawaiian Island Shine glass cleaner. Smells like comet cleaner so I tapped up all the black before cleaning the windows:
A little hard to tell from the first pic in this thread, but it worked pretty good, I still need to do a couple of more passes on the corners and edges.

Looks great. Hope to make mine as clean as yours is right now LOL. I just picked mine up today for $400. Decent body high miles, it's good enough in my opinion.

Because that's probably the cleaners base, lol.
Comet removes hard water and calcium stains from shower porcelain and faucets..I use comet quite often for cleaning and polishing lips on wheels.
btw that is one of the cleanest sedans I have ever seen.

Actually, wood ashes on a wet towel works really good at removing hard water stains, too.

I dont usually have wood ashes around, but I'll test comet on the exhaust pipes and windows stains.
