Inner tie rod / Rack end bushing problem?
Here is the deal. my passanger side inner tie rod has a lot of up and down play im thinking its the rack end bushing. is this most likely the problem? The car drives really straight but you can hear the tie rod clunking at higher speed 40-65

im glad you read this thread already.

the inner tie rod itself should be able to ROTATE up and down. however without play. but i dont think thats what you mean. you mean the part of the rack on the passenger side is able to move up and down, right? so if thats the case, then yes it cant be anything but a bad rack end bushing.
you need to replace it. and dont forget to retighten the pinion gearbox before youre done.
are your boots ripped too? it accelerates the wear. its just plastic.

Yes it moves up and down really easy, also the boot is torn and the car has 280k on it
