no it wont reduce the noise but it makes the exhaust sound deeper and more mellow tone..i guess you could put a bolt in that o2 hole ??
i personally have this one from jegs

it deepens it ...so it appears to be quieter but its not really..its like a subwoofer speaker the bass is still loud as hell but its deep..

people will THINK its quieter, because it will seem quieter, but the actual decible level wont really change from something like that. im not sure if any resonator will actually make it quieter. how quiet do you need?

be wary of ebay resonators, i bought one and it lasted only 2 months before the baffle inside came loose and started buzzing and rattling, you get what you pay for as they say.

Re: (civicflow)
Resonators take out the raspiness, or the loud riceboy buzz, out of an exhaust. I bought a Dynomax 3" resonator for my turbo CRX for $40 from Summit Racing. Not quite done with the car yet, so I don't know how it'll sound. A 3" open downpipe and 3" resonator should sound mean though.

no it won't "quiet" it down a muffler will quiet it down

Re: (98lude-t)
I had a new resonator put on my car about a month ago.The one that they put on at the shop looked simular to the one u mentioned. If you want it to sound like it does with a stock resonator then dont buy that one.My car sounds quiter but def not as quiet as the stock one. I would suggest you go find a quality resonator and you will be happier with it.

Re: how's this for a RESONATOR (Mr.speaker)
What did u use after the glass pack melted? I was going to get one since they are kinda cheap, ~32 but I wanted a real resonator that is actually going to work for a while.

it didnt just melt in a week or anything like that,,took months,,i knew is was going to happen though ..it was just temporary..
now i have the one i posted a pic of..dynomax race muffler http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs...10265 and as you notice they're 16.5" length so they get the job done..

Re: how's this for a RESONATOR (Mr.speaker)
is that what usually happens to the glass packs? I mean the one i was going to get was 22" long so i don't know. I just want a resonator cause mine does sound like it buzzes and/is kinda raspy.

yeah thats what happens to glasspacks..and i think thats the reason they're so cheap..
just get the dynomax race muffler as a resonator and you wont have any problems..

yeah untill you get full boost..

my rsr ex-mag that was on my b16a was very unsuspicious below 3500 or so on the tach.
i wouldnt say it was STOCK, but its the closest ive heard that performs well.

since my piping is 2.5" i ordered the 1st one "2.5" in/out 4" round muffler",,then just have it welded to the piping like its a resonator..
no it doesnt sound quieter then before,,but its more deep sounding,,no rasp at all..its real bassy though,,

Re: (roterx7)
If you want the "noise levels" like stock you would have to reduce the diameter of the piping stock resonator ~2" (/w cat, even quieter), or install a turbo.
