How do you stop the Seatbelt dinger?
I always where my seatbelt, but for some reason it still dings, and flashes the light on the dash for me to buckle up. Ive cleaned the contacts an the seat belts, and the internal workings. Ive tried jumping the wires, and testing them to see what each one does that goes into the seat, and the auto belt over the door. Ive tried to trace down the speaker, and i end up with my head by the ECU, or basicly behind everything in my center consol.
When i plug the top belt in, it will pause for a second, and then start dinging again. Ive got a haynes book on the car, but for soem reason it reads to 1991 on the cover, but anything inside is to 87 So it does not have the correct wiring for my car in it.
Any way to get this buzzer to shut up? I dont mind the light on the dash, but the dinging all the time is killing me.

disconnect the seat belt wire harness underneath the seat. it will not ding anymore. then just remove the light bulb from the cluster.

If its the plug underneath that has 6 wires, i unpluged it and retried starting it, or basicly turning the key to run, and it still dings and flashes at me.

On the headliner rear view mirror, the little housing for the seatbelt light also has the "dinger" in it.Carefully remove it and unplug the harness inside. This will stop the noise with no harm done.

I have a 1990 Civic LX, 4dr. The harness under the seats has a 6 pin plug, with a wire going to each pin. My only light for the seat belts is the one in the dash, and the dinging is definitly comming from under the dash, and somewhere around the center console.
The 6 wires going under the seat, 3 of them are black, and the others are White with a different color runnign down the middle of them.

hmm... power seats perhaps? well, its just a simple 1 or 2 wire harness for the crx.
well, find it and disconnect it. or jump that harness.

just take 15 minutes and search where the noise is coming from, in my crx it comes from the box above the rearview mirror, i just took the whole rear view mirror off and that stoped the anoying light on the rearview and the noise then i removed the bulbe from the cluster and that stoped the anoying light on the dash

No power seats in my car, and there is absolutly nothing in or near the review mirror, guess ill have to look for it again under the dash, its gota be there, it gets louder the closer i get to behind the radio and HVAC stuff.
Not sure what the extra wires do on that harness, and when i tried jumping them nothing happend, guess i need to buy a different repair manual for a better wiring diagram of the car.

On my LX it only gives me greif if the passenger auto-belt isn't clipped into the slider. Otherwise the light stays off and doesn't ding. I hate that ****, I'd rather have a light dinger than a seatbelt dinger - I always buckle up.

I always buckle up too, and both belts are always hooked up, even with noone in the other seat. The dinging is causing more harm than good, for i have to crank the stereo to drown out the annoying tone.
