Default Head Milled or thinner Gasket?

I was wondering is it better to get your head milled or buy a thinner gasket. I have a D16z6 and I am looking to up the compression for more power. So has anyone had any luck with either method? And Where can I buy a thinner gasket or is there a stock gasket I can use that is thinner than mine?
