Icon2 fuel system problem

My '88 CRX Si throws a Code 43 and has occasional fuel starvation symptoms. I've replaced the pump and filter, but that made no change at all. It has a '92 D16z6 engine, but still retains the complete, original '88 fuel system. This problem occurred recently, and didn't start with the swap, so I think the problem is unrelated to the engine mis-match, but I'm at my wits end with it. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator? Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

The symptoms: All cylinders shut off when throttle opened to accelerate, or shut off at speed. Feeding throttle will cause it to run for a few seconds, then slowly fade out. Flooring throttle will cause it to run fine as long as it is floored, but backing off throttle will cause it to shut off when you apply a small amount of throttle. I don't think it is the injectors themselves, because all cylinders fire or shut off evenly. The fuel rail is the '88 PGM FI matching the manifold. Will a defective Throttle Position Sensor show a 43 Code, or does it have its own?

Thanks,

Jesse Kensinger (miniwhl)

I have this same problem on my crx right now, you have to check the wiring for the o2 sensor back to the ecu or replace the o2 sensor
