Default Fuel gauge not working?

I was wiring some **** and my positive wire had accidently fell off my hands and touched metal. There were sparks flying everywhere. Everything is fine, just that my fuel guage doesnt work. I checked all the fuses but none of them seemed to be blown. I guess a wire is shot.

My question is which wire is actually the wire to the fuel guage?

1. if a wire is 12v+ and not fused then you're creating a fire hazard in your car, GJ.
2. If a wire is fused and sparks to ground like that, you blew a fuse if it stopped, and you blew a fuse if it didn't catch fire or melt the insulation off itself.
3. check your fuses again

You need to look the fuel gauge sender what is on fuel sensor below your rear seats/ compartment. Take the connector off, and jump wire them.

If the gauge doesent move to F (up position), you're fuel gauge is broken. If it does, the sender could be broken.

But the fuel gauge is easy to replace. The fuel/ temp gauge comes off from rest of the cluster. Just find another one. And it works nicely again.

I did have the same problem when i bought the car.

Hope this help.

I tried to jump wire the connector (yellow/white & ground) using a paperclip and the needle does not move at all. So would this mean my fuel gauge is fucked up? And also, when I install the new gauge should I be extra careful? Any precautions I should take? My friends told me that it was extra sensitive.

I another question, I ran a wire from the 10A fuse from the fuse box to the yellow/white (fuel sending unit wire). Would that be okay? Or will it be too much voltage and **** up the wire/fuel gauge? Because before...I tested the yellow/white wire with my crappy electrical bulb tester and there was little to no light coming from the wire. And after I disconnected the 10A fuse wire from the yellow/white wire...there is no voltage coming from the yellow/white wire.

I jumped wire the connector and my fuel gauge does go up. I thought I fixed it but when I got some gas today...the fuel gauge needle went DOWN instead of UP.

Now this is a great post. He gave you all the info you need to know. No one else here knows exactly what you were doing to cause this, so no one but you can fix it. He gave you all you need to know. Best of all no soliciting! (I'm being serious no sarcasm!)

You forgot to add : Next time, and every time you are messing with wires, take the ground wire off the battery. If you need to know why, look at the first post in the thread!

Oh I forgot to add, not only do you create a safety hazard with the battery connected when doing this kind of thing, you can also erase and or damage that turbo edit chip in your ecu. I have seen them completely erased from this exact thing.
