Failed smog, don't know why

Re: Failed smog, don't know why
Well, I put the o2 sensor in the correct spot, and the OEM FPR
NO cel light yet, tried really hard too.
Whatts crazy is there was sudden improvement in power
I tightened the intake manifold bolts, 1-8 turn, most of them
What compression should I be reading?

failed smog again
NO went down by A LOT but still failed
Fuel psi was only 32, when it's suppose to be 45
Put my AEM adjustble on
HC an CO are extremely low.
Could cam timing be wrong?
There's two versions, I have a sohc zc

Go with the Si timing marks.
Jack up left front of car, remove wheel. With the motor off and in neutral, rotate the crank until the TDC mark is lined up with the indicator on the timing belt cover. Turn the crank counter clockwise. Not clockwise. With the crank at TDC, verify that your cam is also at TDC.
Regarding your low HC and CO, perhaps you are running lean. When AFR is lean the combustion chambers will get too hot. It takes just the right amount of fuel in the combustion charge to keep temps down.
Sounds like you need a wideband to dial in your AFR.

Re: Failed smog, don't know why
Ah yes, I thought you were stock(ish) as well.
Lean burn and associated temp killed the cat. That is what I meant by "something killed the cat". They generally don't fall apart like that unless running really lean or rich from what i've seen.
I think you are on the right track.
Are you still using the old o2 sensor or did you check the o2 sensor to see if it was fully functioning? I would be surprised if the o2 sensor survived unscathed if the cat failed that dramatically.
