So, I put a b16a swap into my crx Dx about a month ago. It had a high idle and I was barely able to get it down to 750rpm after it warmed up. My problem now is, the idle screw is adjusted as low as it will go and after the engine warms up, it idles around 2000rpm.

Is my tps at fault? If so, how would I check to see if it is the problem?

I may have found what was wrong. I just watched a YouTube video from Eric the car guy on another thread, then another video, then another video, (you all understand how easily distracting YouTube is) and stumbled upon one where he adjusts his throttle cable. It now seems as if my cable is a little too tight. I'll adjust it tomorrow and report back.

Clean out or replace the idle air control valve (IACV). Also make sure there are no vacuum leaks.

Yeah, IACV is likely the cause. Or vacuum leaks. Both are easy to clean/fix. Also look at the FITV if your B16A has one. Eric the Car Guy is pretty good for little things. My B16A idles at about 1500 until it warms up. But 750-850 is fine for a warm idle.

I can't seem to find the iacv for fitv on my intake mani. I'll post a pic in a bit.

Iacv is on the back of the manifold, the fitv should be underneath the throttle body.

The IACV is the cylinder shaped thing on the back of the intake mani in your top pic. Its function is to allow some air to bypass the throttle body (basically creating a small controlled vacuum leak) to bump up the idle speed... like when the AC is on, for instance. They can get gunked up inside and want to stick open. That part is on a lot of Hondas. Do a search on cleaning them out. It is a very common pest regarding idle problems.

Furthermore, the FITV should be under the throttle body. That is basically where the intake meets the tube that goes to the air box. Also very common on these hondas and is also very easy to fix.

You will probably find the FITV is unscrewed. Screw that puppy all the way in and your idle should drop. If that's not enough, someone may have adjusted the base idle screw on the bottom. There is a whole procedure to set that and the TPS. Good luck.

If you could post the process, that would be greatly helpful. I had adjusted about two weeks ago, but it didn't help.

You will have to search for the procedure, I don't remember the details. You might have a vacuum leak too, have you changed the intake or TB gaskets?

Thanks for the info, I'll have to take a look at the car when I get a chance. I should be able to in the next week or so.

I know I haven't replied in a while. About a month or so ago I cleaned out the fitv and iacv an that fixed the high idle.

After I drove the hell out of the car to school yesterday, the idle is right back where it was before I cleaned the fitv and iacv.

I'm going to clean them both put again next week. I was just wondering what would cause the idle to jump back up to 3000 rpm when it was 750 rpm the day before.

3000 rpm, I'd say vacuum leak.

Check your throttle cable to see if it is too tight also.

I'll check for some vacuum leaks when I get a chance. The throttle cable is already adjusted properly.

not trying to highjack, but my A6/Z6 idles at 2K as well, cleaned the IACV and that's not the issues, idle screw is all the way it. Have adjusted the cable, and tightened the FITV. Have checked for vacuum leaks with break clean and propane with nothing found.
