So i have a usdm d15b. I was looking at engines for pricing for the day i need a new one and was wondering if and d15 would work as a replacement (drop in and go) for my d15b when it gives? For example would a d15z6, d15y3, or d15b7 work?

Yeah those will drop in. 3 of the 4 motor mounts are on the transmission, all d series trannys are interchangeable. The 92-2000 trannies use hydraulic clutch systems, 88-91 use clutch cable. If you retain your tranny any d series block can go into your chassis.

The d16z6 and d15b are almost identical engines

Whats your year make and model. There are a couple of D15B's during that era. The B7 is basically a direct swap minus that you'll have to swap over intake manifolds, distributors, and do a fan wiring switch relocation.
