Swap questions, please help.
I'm putting the engine from a 1997 Civic DX into my 1990 CR-X Si. (I spun a rod the other day FTL )
I have the engine, tranny, ECU and wiring harness. Could someone tell me what snags I'm going to hit? I know it sucks going from OBD0 to OBD2. I was thinking about just using the old ecu and the old distributor, but I don't know how well that would work with the sensors and all. Has anyone done a write-up on this before? Will the mounts work? If I want to use the tranny from the 97, its a hydro, so what all would I need for that? Would there be any clearence issues with my chassis? Can I use my 90 tranny and not have any issues?
Thanks a lot everyone.
Cory

you would need to use the 90 tranny uless you wanna convert to a hydro trans and if you wanted it wired obd2 you would need to convert and imo if you are gona convert... convert to obd1
other than that i cant think of any real problems you would run into both are non vtec and both are single cams so it should be a direct bolt in

best thing to do is put all the original si stuff on the new motor,,,meaning distributor, intake manifold, header, motor mounts,tranny,wiring,injectors,etc.. i know the fan switch is in a different location on the 97 motor you'll need to extend the wires and solder on a new plug for that or just ****** rig the fan...then just act as if you're puttin in another d16a6
