Default d16 numbers

so i am building a single cam, i am originally a chevy guy and dont understand the numbers on the block. i want to build a non-vtec motor cause the engine management that i am using cant run vtec, i have a d15B block laying around but i found out that i cant get nice rods and a crank for it, so what i am gunna do is use a non vtec d16 block, but i dont know what i am looking for a D16A or B or what?? the engine management that i have is the megasquirt, i got it and put it together myself and had the original d15B in my 88 hatch running of it(also i did the mpfi conversion). it was a be otch to set up and get running but it should be easy enough to stick it onto another motor,

No, you're good. All D-series parts work with eachother

they will all bolt up to the transmission - a D16Z6 is a SOHC VTEC from 92-95 Civic EX - the DOHC D-series is D16A1 in 86-89 Integra and won't work with SOHC head - DOHC ZC block won't work either - if you get a D16Z6 or D16Y8 block you will need to put the oil restictor in the top of it if you aren't running VTEC

turbod16.com is a good place for D series specific information. i know you said your going all motor, but it helps. hope i could help. also, the FAQ in this forum has alot of good info, start by reading there.

i am curious and dont want to thread jack but will a d17 crank work in an a6 motor? pm me some info if you got some.
