Default D15B7 head on D15B2, keep DPFI

I've been researching what I'd need to swap a d15b7 head on to my d15b2 block, but everyone is converting to MPFI.

I'd like to stay DPFI as it's easiest right now, I don't really care about having more power.

That being said, can I just swap everything from the d15b2 head over to the d15b7 head? I want to stay OBD0 and keep DPFI.

Or, if there's an easier way, post it up

Everything should work no problem, just reuse obd0 parts wherever neccesary.

They are the same head as far as casting goes.

yeah, use the timing belt and head that matches the block either way.

You can do a search using yahoo, and it seems lots do this. The timing belt for these two engines (stock setups) is the same, according to bkhondaparts.com.

The cam profiles of the D15B7 and D15B2 are different, but this is mostly academic. From my reading on this for another project so far, I think the valve durations are the same. Your switch is going to work fine, but the fuel mileage might not be as high as an all-stock engine. OTOH, the difference in MPG may not even be noticeable.

I think the cam profile difference is mostly because one is MPFI and the other is DPFI. MPFI could be said to be somewhat more efficient when it comes to igniting the fuel-air mixture, so timing specs are somewhat different.

The OEM shop manuals (sitting here in front of me) for the Civics that have these two engines show the cam differences.

i just got my swap done it works good!! i just need it timed right its about a tooth off, what you will need is a b7 head with b7 distributor, b2 head gasket, and new intake manifold gasket, it cost me about 130$ for the set up and i do feel the lil diff and my car ist timed right so imagine if its timed just perfect!!! but ill get that done soon, thats all youll need and im also running dual point, but i do have the mpfi swap for the car, but good luck on yours!!!
