Default D15B2 performance parts

I am looking into buying a '89 Civic Hatch with a D15B2 in it, it already has an intake, header back full exhaust, slight drop, short-throw shifter, and ignition upgrades, I was just wondering what else is out there performance wise for this engine short of doing a Swap

there really isnt else you could do unless you go boost or do a mutlipoint swap

no cams or anything that you can put in to make a little bit more power? and what kinda power gains would be seen from the MPI swap, and wheres a good place 2 get it (and average price and difficulty level)

Maybe you could get a custom grind cam. On the mutipoint swap I dont know how much more hp but if you never done any wiring or engine work it should be pretty hard. But once its converted to mutlipoint you could go troube easyier

Since I'm such a nice person, I'll tell you the Horsepower gain --> You can expect to be running around 102 HP (Crank), or in other terms you'll turn your boring stock DPFI motor in a boring stock D15B7 with more power out of the next generation

I read somewhere on the internet that a D16A6 cam can be put into the D15b2 but I don't always believe what I read.

Yup, D15B2 Head = D15B7 Head = D16A6 Head = SOHC ZC Head, all the same casting.

iv read that if you put a d16a6 cam in a d15b2 you have to get a different timing belt.. not from a d16a6 but something els.. or maybe im crazy.. but anyways.. dont mess around with dpfi. swap in a mpfi (si) manifold . its day and night. plus you can drop in a better motor like a B series or dohc zc and not worry about wiring mpfi since you already did it. if you go with a b series vtec engine then all you need to wire is vtec.

you have to use a different cam gear. from a y series engine, d16y8, etc...

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, YOU CAN USE THE D16A6 CAM GEAR WITH THE CORRESPONDING CAM(SI). IM IN THE PROCESS OF DOING THE MPFI SWAP AND THATS WHAT I WAS TOLD.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROJECT
OH YEA, YOU'LL NEED THE PM6 ECU AS WELL!!

take out the secondary butterfly plate in the TB, it's held on by two screws and gives the intake a little more roar

and so it begins................
please dont take anything out of your TB. its there for a reason. plus you'll feel really stupid when you drop the screws in your intake.

the butterfly plate is likely there to channel air flow, the factory put it there for a reason. Not for sound, if they were to muffle sound, theyd put baffles of some kind in the intake tubes. He's right, dont touch it, who wants roar anyways if youre not going fast.

you won't be able to get engine timing setup properly without it, due to the b2 crank rotation/indexing being different than the a6. simple mechanics.
