is the d15 an interference engine
Timing belt broke on a car i need to fix and i was wondering if the d15 is an interference engine or if its free to go once you pop a new belt on there? I know either way theres a chance that it still would be fine even if it was an interference engine. 91 Civic DX.

the answer is yes it is in interference engine,
the chance of you bending a valve are slim to none tho
you would have to have snapped the belt going 100 miles per hour and keep trying to push start the motor while you were still rolling.
throw a belt on there and run it. thats the only way your going to know...

Yes. Almost all Honda motors are "interference" type. you can try putting on a new belt and starting it up, but be prepared to have bent valves.
If your valves are bent, and you need a place to take it too, "Will's Machine Shop" is a good place that I use in Atlanta. PM me if you need more specifics. Good luck.

I must disagree from experience. I broke a timing belt while driving 25mph through my old neighborhood, and I bent several valves. I still hope that luck is on your side.
