Re: D15 build up (blackEF)
the teg pitson will not work in the d15 due to wrist pin location. the y8 head with a stock d15 piston setup is the way to go. i had a stock d15 with the 6g nonvtec y7 head(wich is for sale) and it took zc powed crx all day long. its a great motor.

Re: D15 build up (WAFFLES)
i think so. and you can still get parts for it. unlike the zc. dont get me wrong i loved my zc but i was just surprized at the d15 power i got. this was the setup
d15 shorty
d16y7 non vtec head
clutchmaster stage one
d16a6 intake mani
d16y8 exaust mani with b20 down pipe
zcsi tranny
home made cai
thats it
i used the zc tranny on my d16z6/zc and the d15 and i still think the d15 was just as good as all of those. IMO

Re: D15 build up (MIDNIGHT)
from what mista bones has said the piston set realy low in the cylinder and does little to nothing for comprision. and a flat top piston will always have a lower chance of ditonation campared to a dome

Re: D15 build up (blackEF)
the y8 will give you a higher comp ratio than the y7 due to the square chambers and the vtec will give you a better top end. i just like the simple non vtec approch.

Re: D15 build up (blackEF)
i guees i alway toss them in the trash our use them as a backup motor. but i would think it would be the same as a dx motor just with 2 valves reliefs on the piston wich mean you gotta swap out piston before you can put a 16v head on

Re: D15 build up (TorteX)
right now, i'm in the process of finishing my project. i got the d15 + y8 head (P&P, 3 angle vavle job, .40" milled head, y8 headgasket, d16a6 intake man+TB (match ported to head, CAI, Chikara torque step headers) i got everything for super cheap, and did all the machining(vavles, mill,P&P) myself at school, i'm pretty sure the d15 mini me will smoke alot of cars out there, problem is right now i got an automatic, but have the tranny ready to swap too, i'll let u know how it works out.
