cv-joint replacement.
How do you replace the hub side cv-joint or any diagrams showing the parts that make the cv-joint cos I now know someone who can get honda built parts.
I dont need to replace the whole shaft cos it's just been rebuilt but they used all honda built parts apart from the hub side cv bearing.

Re: cv-joint replacement.
You mean the boot or the actual joint? The part cost for the OEM joint parts will probably cost way more than a remanufactured axle. Axles are a pain in the *** to take apart, not really worth it.

this is false. the joint does not just fall apart. the outer race will come off the axle easily, but then inner ball and cage assembly comes off by taking off a snap ring. get the haynes manual. its cheap and tells you exactily what to do.
i have assembled many a joint, and have been very satisfied with the end results. i suggest you make your own joints so you can keep on rollin

C jackson is exactly right except get the chiltons manual- I bought the haynes too and it blows). The Chiltyon Manuual covers the 84-95 civ/crx/delsol. It's for us models anyway. Try http://www.icleord.net/honda this guy has a crx factory manual scanned into his computer.

Re: cv-joint replacement. (cstem)
ya the haynes manual blows, but it only cost like 13 bucks. i got one a looong time ago when i first bought my car, had perfect instructions for rebuilding the axles.

Re: cv-joint replacement.
If Honda axles are the same as Toyota ones (and they look like they would be) basically all you do is the inboard joint isn't really held in with anything. Take off the retaining ring and pull the joint apart, it is just held together by its inability to pull apart because of the suspension. You have to take out 2 snap rings than bang the joint off of the splines and pull that boot off and replace if needed. Same thing for the other side.
